Traveling through South America gives you an interesting exploration of many different cultures, histories, and languages. Having visited and lived in multiple countries across the continent, I've come to appreciate the distinct variations not just in accents, but also in everyday language, as influenced by the region's colonial past, European immigration, and indigenous cultures.

The Barranquilla Carnaval got started this past weekend. The Carnaval Queen opened the celebrations with a speech and there was a concert. The crowd was huge, and I mean HUGE! My friend Vivi and I went down there to see the festivities, it was late, after 11pm when we headed there. She didn't want to go, but did so with me. I was hoping to get somewhat close to the stage to see the bands, but that was a hopeless task.

I'm back. I should have written sooner but have been busy, which is a good thing. So I last left you with mentioning about the english presentations here at work. The presentation day came and people were busy practicing and discussing what they were doing for their own presentation. There were a couple people who did karaoki, and a couple who did a family tree presentation.

The photo album is working now, yay! Be sure to check it out.
I didn't do a very good job of keeping track of things to write about, so I am just going from what I can remember this time.
Lets see, Kal Tire had a party at a place called Zunilda (http://www.villazunilda.com/). It was very nice. I have some pics in the Barranquilla photo album. We had a very nice lunch, dancing, swimming for the kids, paddle boats on the pond.
